Our Resolutions
Resolutions of the Members of Faith Freewill Baptist Church
Resolution: Something made clear, decided upon or a Statement.
1. We will promote with the highest priority the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
John 14:6 Jesus said unto him, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life: No man cometh unto the Father, but by Me".
Gospel is defined as Good News. Good News is defined Biblically in 1 Corinthians 15:4 ; The Death, Burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Three ways of proclaiming this are:
A. By Teaching and Preaching 2 Timothy 3:17
B. By Example 2 Corinthians 6: 14 -18
C. By Witnessing/Visitation Matthew 28:19 ,20 and Acts 1:8
2. Be it Resolved: We will endeavor to promote unity without compromise or indifference to the truths of God's Word. Psalms 133: 1-3
(Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.)
* Compromise requires a lowering of the standards of God's Holiness, Rightiousness
* Indifference simply means not moved to stand For or Against.
1 Kings 18:21 "And Elijah came unto all the people and said, "How long halt ye between opinions? If the Lord be God , follow Him; but if Baal then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.""
3. Be it Resolved: We will, with burden and faith, pray daily for the needs of our brothers and sisters.
James 5:16 " Pray one for another." In the Gospel of St. John, Jesus set an example by praying for His Disciples and then for us.
Helping to carry another's burdens and needs to the Lord in Prayer is one of the greatest acts of Love you can show:
A. Listen to their request.
B. Use a Prayer Journal with requests for Yourself and Others
C. Check off when answered
4. Be it Resolved: We will encourage to the best of our abilities: Church attendance, Giving, Fellowship and any other Christian Labors of the Church which promote Christian Character.
Hebrews 10:25 "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is: but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."
* It has been said a chain is only as strong as its weakest link; so also is the Church.
* Let us do all we can in Love to promote qualities in each other which will strengthen us.
